In School We Trust
Today we can put a man on the moon, clone dogs and enter virtual worlds with our smart phones. At the same time, our education system is experiencing declining results in the face of rising costs, in the face of ever-increasing government influence.
How can this situation be explained?
This book provides an introduction to under-researched international education literature. The book is in Dutch. An English translation is available, which has yet to be corrected. Steps are being taken for publishing through formal channels.
The book does not pretend to tell the absolute truth. It paints a picture that emerges after studying more than 20,000 pages of international sources. The results are new patterns, characterizations, mindsets, underexposed interests and a piece of the 'back end' of fancy educational innovations.
Educational innovations that are also at play in the Netherlands.
Based on this information, anyone can investigate for themselves what you think is going on in education, and to what extent the sources in this book are a useful supplement to explanations from the Ministry of Education.
The book is 150 pages and consists of four parts:
- 2-page summary of the book (abstract)
- Summary of international education developments in nine themes (43 pages)
- Further explanations in 14 appendices (31 pages)
- Additional substantiation in more than 750 endnotes (60 pages)
The book is in preparation for publication in late 2022.
